Zika virus sequencing to confirm mutant clone sequences

Previously, a direct transmission experiment in mice revealed rapid adaptation of Zika virus that resulted in enhanced virulence in mice. Three amino acid substitutions emerged in these adapted Zika viruses, NS2A-A117V, NS2A- A117T, and NS4A-E19G. This study sought to characterize these mutant viruses further. The whole genome sequencing was done to confirm that there were no further evolution of the viruses after experimentation.
