The Organic Fruit Breeding sector through the lens of Social Innovation

This dataset supports the article “The Organic Fruit Breeding sector through the lens of Social Innovation: unpacking the transformational potential”, published in the International Journal of Sociology of Agriculture and Food (IJSFA). It contains structured information on 43 social innovation (SI) initiatives in the organic fruit breeding (OFB) sector across 10 European countries. Developed within the InnOBreed project, it includes qualitative and coded variables on each initiative (e.g. country, crop, breeding phase, governance, activities), as well as scores along two analytical dimensions—governance and socio-technical approach—used to position cases within a classification matrix. The dataset provides a comparative empirical basis to analyse the diversity and transformative potential of SI in OFB.
