Windfarm Locations

This dataset shows polygon boundaries of planning applications for wind farms in North Ayrshire and includes information on the status of the application, the number of turbines the application included and whether the wind farm is operational or not. This dataset includes applications that have been withdrawn or refused A separate point layer ‘Consented Turbines’ is available which shows the positions of the turbines and whether or not they have been erected. This was added to ODP on 22/07/2026 This was last reviewed on 19/06/2026 This is regularly refreshed: The data is refreshed quarterly when resources allow. Additional Info: The data is updated by reviewing the Planning Applications System (Uniform) and by checking consultations from the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit.
