Variables in the dataset:Coast: Two coasts were samples for this dataset. The West coast was sampled at Namaqua National Park (NNP), the Southern coast at Garden Route National Park (GRNP).Temperature: Thermal treatments used for the acute thermal exposure of S. capensis. Five thermal treatments were used (24, 29, 34, 39, and 44ºC).Cadmium: Cadmium chloride (CdCl2) was used for the acute chemical exposure of S. capensis. Three concentrations were used: Control, Environmentally Relevant Concentration +10% (ERC +10%), and Environmentally Relevant Concentration +20% (ERC +20%).Cardiac Performance (Heart rate): The resultant heart rates of S. capensis per minute after acute chemical and thermal exposure. individual and average heart rates are included.
