Isolation of antimicrobial compounds from the genus Delftia.. Antimicrobial properties of the genus Delftia.

The excessive global use of antimicrobial drugs in humans as well as agriculture and veterinary medicine has led to the emergence of new multi-drug resistant pathogens. Many of these pathogens are globally spread and treatment options for clinicians are becoming limited. Our research indicates that Delftia spp. produce novel anti-bacterial compounds active against Gram positive and Gram negative multi-drug resistant pathogens.
