Bacteria play an essential role in maintaining the health of terrestrial plants. The same applies to bacteria found in association with marine macroalgae or seaweed. One of the compounds that bacteria produce that is responsible for seaweed health, is indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), a compound known to act as a growth hormone. In seaweed, it has been shown to result in the formation of new buds for growth. The files in this dataset consist of the raw and processed data for measuring IAA production by seaweed-associated bacteria. The way in which the readings were captured is according to the 96-well plate layout image provided in a related submission.IAA standard curve: Excel sheet containing different tabs denoting the general information from the microtiter plate reader, the plate layout, and the photometric data. A standard curve of indole-3-acetic acid is presented in the final tab.IAA_Plate 1a; IAA_Plate 1b; IAA_Plate 1c; IAA_Plate 2a; IAA_Plate 2b; and IAA_Plate 2c: Excel sheets containing different tabs denoting the general information from the microtiter plate reader and the photometric data. Processed data is also captured in the second tab, including the processed photometric data from plates 1a, 1b, 1c, in file IAA_Plate 1a, while the processed photometric data from plates 2a, 2b, and 2c, are captured in IAA_Plate 2a.
