This study aimed to characterize two parameters related to oocyte competence, GV chromatin configuration and EGFR expression in oocytes and their cumulus cells, and to establish their relationship with follicle size and puberty status. Oocytes obtained from prepubertal goats (1–2 months old) and sheep (3–4 months old), originating from follicles smaller or larger than 3 mm, were analyzed and compared to those from large follicles in their adult counterparts.

Aquest estudi tenia com a objectiu caracteritzar dos paràmetres relacionats amb la competència dels ovòcits, la configuració de la cromatina GV i l'expressió d'EGFR en oòcits i les seves cèl·lules cúmuls, i establir la seva relació amb la mida del fol·licle i l'estat de pubertat. Oòcits obtinguts de cabres prepuberals (1–2 mesos) i d'ovelles (3-4 mesos d'edat), originats en fol·licles menors o més grans de 3 mm, i es van comparar amb els dels fol·licles grans dels seus homòlegs adults.
