VOLCORE(Volcanic Core Records)数据库收录了 **34,696 个可见火山碎屑层(火山灰及相关产物)记录**,这些记录来源于以下国际大洋钻探计划的初始报告:深海钻探计划(DSDP, 1966–1983)、大洋钻探计划(ODP, 1983–2003)、综合大洋钻探计划(IODP, 2003–2013)以及国际大洋发现计划(IODP, 2013–至今),涵盖至 IODP 381 航次。上述国际钻探项目在全球范围内均有钻探点位。所获得的火山碎屑层及含火山碎屑沉积物时间跨度从近期直至约 1.5 亿年前。该数据库专门收录了由火山灰完全或主要组成的可见火山碎屑层相关信息,包括海底以下埋深、火山碎屑层厚度、地理位置及相关备注。对于大部分(29,493 个)火山碎屑层,还基于现有的深度–年代模型估算了其近似年龄。该数据库可广泛应用于火山地层学、火山学、地球化学、沉积物输运及古气候学等研究。
VOLCORE (Volcanic Core Records) database houses **34,696** records of visible volcanic clastic layers (volcanic ash and related products), which are sourced from the initial reports of the following international ocean drilling initiatives: Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP, 1966–1983), Ocean Drilling Program (ODP, 1983–2003), Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP, 2003–2013), and International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP, 2013–present), covering up to IODP Expedition 381. All the aforementioned international drilling projects have globally distributed drilling sites. The acquired volcanic clastic layers and volcanic-clastic-bearing sediments span a temporal range from the recent era to approximately 150 million years ago. This database exclusively curates information on visible volcanic clastic layers composed entirely or primarily of volcanic ash, including burial depth below the seafloor, layer thickness, geographic location, and associated annotations. For the majority (29,493) of these volcanic clastic layers, their approximate ages have also been estimated based on existing depth-age models. This database can be widely applied to research fields including volcanostratigraphy, volcanology, geochemistry, sediment transport, and paleoclimatology.
