Agricultural soil Metagenome

In the present Project, we investigated how two contrasting maize production systems, i.e. conventional practices and organic milpa, and two soil moisture contents, i.e. field capacity (FC) and 5% of FC, affected the bacterial community structure in soil incubated aerobically for 45 days. Milpa is a traditional agrosystem practiced in Mesoamerica, based on polyculture; as a system has been adapted to a broader climate, edaphic and cultural gradient, including the use of different organic inputs and soil conservation practices.
