The data is calculated based on statistics of vehicles entering and exiting the detection area, and is used to control real-time traffic signal scheduling according to the entry and exit data. Its applications are as follows: 1. Provide raw data for subsequent work including re-dividing time periods, adjusting time period durations, and optimizing the green split ratio (the ratio of green time available for vehicle passage to the total signal cycle duration within a single signal cycle): 1) For workdays from Tuesday to Thursday: Divide time periods into segments based on the ratio of the vehicle flow data of the previous two days in each direction to the designed saturated flow value of the intersection; 2) For workdays on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Divide time periods into segments based on the ratio of the vehicle flow data of the previous two weeks' Mondays in each direction to the designed saturated flow value of the intersection. 2. Based on the flow data of each time period, the lane time occupancy can be calculated, and the lane space occupancy and headway can be estimated. 3. Provide intersection traffic flow, lane occupancy and other data required for decision-making by transportation authorities. 1. Data sources: ① Traffic flow (i.e., the total number of vehicles detected by traffic flow detection loops): Left-turn, straight-going and right-turn flows can be collected and monitored through the software backend, while the inbound flow needs to be calculated; ② Saturated flow (i.e., the maximum number of vehicles that can pass within 10 minutes): It is a fixed value based on previous measurements; ③ The inbound and outbound traffic indexes need to be calculated via relevant formulas. 2.
