Northeast China is currently facing a new round of revitalization and development opportunities, while its prominent population issues have become the main constraint to the region's economic and social development. This dataset records the population distribution across counties and cities of Liaoning Province in 2000, including three indicators: agricultural population, total population at the end of the year, and rural population. It can provide data support for studies on the current status, characteristics and evolutionary laws of the spatial distribution of population in Liaoning Province.
