This dataset supports the study “Injury Prevention for B-Boys and B-Girls in Breaking via Time-Motion Analysis” published in Applied Sciences (Pérez-Portela et al., 2023; https://doi.org/10.3390/app13169350).The research analyses the temporal and sequential structure of competitive breaking (b-boys and b-girls) with the aim of identifying performance patterns relevant to training load management and injury prevention. The sample includes all battles performed by male and female athletes in four Red Bull BC One tournaments held between 2018 and 2021, covering both competitive categories since the introduction of the women’s division.An observational methodology was applied using an ad hoc observation instrument designed to register time–motion variables and movement sequences during breaking battles. Data were recorded using LINCE PLUS software and analysed with IBM SPSS Statistics (v25.0). Variables include battle duration, temporal distribution of actions, movement sequences, sex category, and competition phase, enabling the analysis of workload characteristics and behavioural patterns associated with injury risk.The repository contains a single dataset file in IBM SPSS Statistics format (.sav), titled “Breaking_TimeMotion_2018–2021”, which allows replication of the statistical analyses reported in the article and supports further research on performance demands, workload modelling, and injury prevention strategies in competitive breaking.
