Forest Inventory of a Northern Hardwood Forest: Watershed 6 1982, Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest

Forest inventory surveys were initiated in 1965,
repeated in 1977, and repeated at 5 year intervals after
that; this data set was collected in summer of 1982. The
inventory consists of a total inventory of all trees >=10
cm diameter-at-breast-height (dbh) on the whole of the
watershed (13.23 ha), as measured in each of the 208 25 m x
25 m plots. Trees >=2 to <=10 cm dbh were inventoried
on 35 of the 25 m x 25 m plot. These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook
Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at
the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and
maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research
Station.

本森林清查项目始于1965年，1977年完成首次重复清查，此后每5年开展一次周期性重复调查；本次数据集采集于1982年夏季。
本次清查针对整个流域（总面积13.23公顷）开展全林木普查：在208个25米×25米样地中，对胸径（diameter-at-breast-height, dbh）≥10厘米的林木进行了全面测量与登记。另有35个25米×25米样地，专门针对胸径介于2厘米至10厘米之间的林木开展了清查工作。
本数据集为哈伯布鲁克生态系统研究（Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study, HBES）的组成部分。该项目是依托哈伯布鲁克实验林开展的协作研究计划，由美国农业部林务局（USDA Forest Service）北部研究站负责运营与维护。
