The microbial diversity in donkey milk has a great impact on its quality and safety. However, previous researches have been limited on traditional culture based methods, and little research has been performed on microbial diversity in donkey milk using high-throughput sequencing (HTS). In this stuty, the composition of bacterial communities in donkey milk of Yuepuhu County, Xinjiang, China (XJ), and Dong'e, Shandong, China (SD) has been determined using HTS.
