The data set contains information on the addresses of Riga State Municipality with location on a building or land unit, as well as information on the centreline and names of the city streets. Data are maintained in Latvia’s 1992 coordinate system (LKS-92 TM) with a scale of 1:500 accuracy. The address of a land unit or building shall be assigned, changed, specified or liquidated by a decision of the City Development Department of Riga City Council on the basis of a submission of the owner of the immovable property or his or her authorised person. The names of streets and squares in the city are given or renamed by the municipal council. The Commission of Riga Place names and City Object Names examines proposals and the Riga City Council decides on the allocation of the name of the street or square.
