A need for standardization in visual acuity measurement

ABSTRACT Standardization of terminologies and methods is increasingly important in all fields including ophthalmology, especially currently when research and new technology are rapidly driving improvements in medicine. This review highlights the range of notations used by vision care professionals around the world for vision measurement, and the challenges resulting from this practice. The global community is urged to move toward a uniform standard.【摘要】 术语与方法的标准化在包括眼科学（ophthalmology）在内的所有学科领域中均愈发重要，尤其在当前研究与新技术正快速推动医学革新的背景下。本综述梳理了全球眼视光从业者用于视力测量的各类记录方式，并指出了该实践所引发的诸多挑战。在此呼吁全球学界共同推进统一标准化体系的构建。
