To better understand the market demand for API gateways in Beijing, this study collected and calculated relevant demand elasticity data for local API gateways in the city. If the ratio of the change in demand for API gateways is greater than the ratio of the change in their prices, the demand for API gateways is considered elastic, indicating that customers are highly sensitive to price changes of API gateways. The greater the elasticity, the more sensitive demand is to price fluctuations; all enterprises in the API gateway industry can appropriately lower the prices of API gateways in this city to achieve higher revenues. Conversely, if the demand for API gateways is inelastic, all enterprises in the API gateway industry can appropriately raise the prices of API gateways in this city to obtain higher revenues. This dataset holds significant importance for the marketing decision-making of all enterprises in the API gateway industry operating in Beijing. 1. Data Collection: Collect monthly demand and price data of relevant API gateways in Beijing, then organize and summarize the data at the municipal level to derive the change values of API gateway demand and price fluctuations. 2. Algorithm Rules: Calculate the collected data using the following formula to obtain the demand elasticity coefficient: $E_d = -(Delta Q / Q) div (Delta P / P)$. In the formula, $Q$ represents the demand quantity of the product (unit: unit); $P$ represents the price of the product (unit: yuan); $Delta Q$ represents the year-on-year change in demand quantity (unit: unit); $Delta P$ represents the year-on-year change in price (unit: yuan). Take the absolute value $|E_d|$ of the demand elasticity coefficient as the reference coefficient for data analysis. 3. Data Analysis: Analyze the price elasticity of demand for the API gateway based on the value of $|E_d|$: (1) $|E_d| = 1$ (Unitary price elasticity of demand): Indicates that the change range of demand is identical to that of price; (2) $1 < |E_d|$ (Demand is elastic): Indicates that the change range of demand is greater than that of price; (3) $|E_d| < 1$ (Demand is inelastic): Indicates that the change range of demand is less than that of price.
