Malaysian Agriculture and Plantation Greenhouse Gas Equilibrium Model (MAPGEM) - 2018 Update

The Malaysian Agriculture and Plantation Greenhouse Gas Equilibrium Model (MAPGEM) predicts the economic impact of renewable energy on the Malaysian agriculture and plantation sectors. MAPGEM forecasts land use, resources, prices, production, domestic consumption, imports, exports, and greenhouse gases between 2018 and 2065. It includes banana, cocoa, coconut, durian, forest, kenaf, mango, oil palm, papaya, pepper, pineapple, rambutan, rice, rubber, and agricultural wastes. MAPGEM allows the study of biodiesel, bioelectricity, butanol, and ethanol and their penetration into the fossil-fuel markets. A user can also study government policies such as a carbon tax, subsidies, and minimum biofuel mandates.
