Goods transport by inland waterways

Inland waterway transport progressed by only 17 % in nearly three decades. It should however be noted that the efficiency of this transport mode made a big step forward since the transport performance was done with a considerably reduced vessel fleet. For some countries, like the Netherlands, it is the second mode of transport after road, and for other countries, it still has a major share of the market.近三十年来，内河航运（Inland Waterway Transport）的发展仅实现了17%的增长。但需特别指出的是，尽管运输作业依托的船队规模大幅缩减，该运输方式的效率却取得了长足进步。对于荷兰等部分国家而言，内河航运是仅次于公路运输的第二大运输方式；而在其他国家，内河航运仍占据着重要的市场份额。
