To unveil the resuscitation mechanism of freezing survived S. aureus, we used cells stored at -18°C for 90 d as control. After allowing the survived cells to resuscitate at 37°C, we compared the differential proteomes during resuscitation using non-labeled High Performance Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS). Based on the MS analysis of the quantification results for three biological replicates of each sample, the statistically different proteins on expression were verified according to its significance using student t test. The present research identified 975 proteins from 10,836 peptides at a false discovery rate (FDR) of 1%, where 118 showed a more than 2-fold difference in expression with a p-value less than 0.05.
