Whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing of the domesticated silkworm (Bombyx mori). Bombyx mori strain:Dazao

The Bombyx mori genome was sequenced by Southwest Agricultural University in China using a whole genome shotgun (WGS) method at approximately 5.9x coverage. The project has the accession number AADK00000000; this version of the project (01) has the accession number AADK01000000, and consists of sequences AADK01000001-AADK01066482. The genomic scaffolds are represented by contig records with accessions CH379587-CH396048. DNA for genomic sequencing was isolated from an inbred domesticated variety, Dazao, that is used for biological and genetic research around the world. DNA was extracted from fifth-instar (day 3), posterior silk gland tissue obtained from a mix of 1225 male (ZZ) individuals.
