Comparative analysis of different bathing strategies on the modulation of the skin microbiome in ICU-patientss

This study aimed to examine the impact of different bathing strategies on the skin microbiome of ICU patients. Three hospitals participated in the study: Jena University Hospital, Charite Medical University Berlin, and Thueringen-Clinics Gregorius Agricola in Saalfeld. Each hospital tested a different bathing strategy: water and soap bathing in Jena, 2 percent chlorhexidine-impregnated cloths in Berlin, and 0.08 percent octenidine disposable wash mitts in Saalfeld.
