Mixedwood conifer trial to compare ectomycorrhizal and arbuscular fungal effects on soil organic matter decay

The two major mycorrhizal guilds in forests are ectomycorrhiza and arbuscular mycorrhiza. Each type has a unique set of traits that facilitate nutrient mobilization and uptake for the host tree. This study examines the differences in peroxidase activity between ectomycorrhiza and arbuscular mycorrhiza of conifers along coastal British Columbia.
