Dataset for Validation of Colorimetric Measurements and Assessment of Scaling Risk in Recirculating Cooling Water

The dataset contains experimental and calculated data used to validate the proposed colorimetric tests for chloride (Cl⁻) and total hardness (TH) determination and to assess scaling risk under different concentration factors (CF = 1–7). Table 1, “Validation dataset for chloride and total hardness measurements and CF determination,” contains ten replicate measurements for each CF together with reference measurements performed according to ISO 9297 and ISO 6059. Table 2, “Validation statistics for the proposed colorimetric tests and CF determination,” summarizes the agreement between the proposed tests and reference methods using Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r), R², and p-values. Table 3, “Dataset for CPI assessment,” presents the experimental and calculated total hardness values, hardness deviation, Concentration/Precipitation Index (CPI), and corresponding scaling interpretation. Table 4a, “Dataset for LSI assessment,” contains the replicate measurements of pH, temperature, Ca²⁺ concentration, alkalinity, TDS, saturation pH, and the calculated Langelier Saturation Index (LSI). Table 4b, “Summary statistics and interpretation of LSI,” provides the mean ± SD values for the investigated parameters and the corresponding scaling interpretation. Table 5a, “Dataset for RSI assessment,” contains the replicate measurements used to calculate the Ryznar Stability Index (RSI), while Table 5b, “Summary statistics and interpretation of the Ryznar Stability Index,” presents the mean ± SD values and the corresponding scaling interpretation. Table 6, “Comparative scaling interpretation according to CF,” summarizes the scaling classifications obtained from CPI, LSI, and RSI across the investigated CF range.
