FILE DESCRIPTION Keywords: Barbara, real badger, stuffed badger, WTPDs File name: Fig 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4, Alarm calling to stuffed vs real badger, WTPDs, 20 Nov 2025 Here I investigate alarm calling of WTPDs to my stuffed badgers vs alarm calling by the SAME WTPDS to a real badger (Barbara) in spring 2012. I used responses to the real badger from 30 May 2012 through 28 June 2012. This is the SAME TIME INTERVAL when we pulled our stuffed badgers. This file has been checked TWO TIMES by JLH alone on 15 March 2019. All data are from 2012 for WTPDs at ANWR = Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge.. WTPD = Nyanzol marker for each WTPD Eartag = unique right eartag for each WTPD Clan = designation of clan where each WTPD lived Stuffed badger = percentage of times that each WTPD gave alarm call in response to moving badger stuffed in lifelike pose Real badger = percentage of times that each WTPD gave alarm call in response to single real badger = Barbara Real badger was a single female adult badger with four unweaned babies. We named this badger Barbara, and her home den was was about 15 meters in front of John Hoogland's tower One only = 0 means that we observed >= 2 responses to both the real AND the stuffed badgers for each WTPD One only = 1 means that we observed only a single response to the real badger (RSRAB) or to our stuff badgers (several WTPDs) For my analyses, I use data for ALL 31 WTPDS, including those for which Variable = Only = 1 Note that for female-RSRAB, we have one response to real badger, and 0 responses to stuffed badger. RSRAB was killed by real badger before our experiments with the stuffed badgers.
