资源简介:
The metagenomic analysis of Aedes aegypti midguts revealed Elizabethkingia anophelis (Flavobacteriales) as the dominant species post-blood meal. Microbiome reads attributed to this bacterium were utilized for recovering a metagenome-assembled genome. The association of E. anophelis with mosquitoes may suggest a mutually beneficial host-microbe interaction, potentially pivotal for host adaptation to blood digestion. Additionally, E. anophelis is recognized as an emerging pathogen, implicated in global outbreaks in humans. Its presence in various tissues of hematophagous mosquitoes also prompts inquiries about potential transmission routes.
