资源简介:
After a judgement was made by a magistrate in the small debts court, there were two ways to ensure the money was surrendered by the debtor: a garnishee order or a writ of execution. A garnishee order was a document authorising payment out of the debtor’s wages or bank account. A writ of execution was a document authorising a sheriff’s officer to seize and sell real and personal property belonging to the debtor. This volume provides a record of executions made in the small debts court at Hay. Information recorded in this book includes: the date issued, the number of the writ, the number of the plaint, the name and address of the plaintiff and defendant, the amount of the judgement and costs, the execution fee, the total costs, the date of return. Those entries written in red ink are writs of execution issued from foreign courts.
