Special truss moment frame componenent test 6, made of double angles 2L6x4x9/16 SLBB, was tested under cyclic loading. The test setup is a representative of half of the chord in the special segment of the prototype special truss moment frame. Width-to-thickness ratio of the flange does not satisfy AISC seismic compactness criterion, however; the result shows that the specimen could undergo large vertical displacement of 4.855 in. which is equivalent to 2.82% story drift or 9.16% member drift. The failure also occurred on the web, rather on the flanges.
