A study (Palozola, K. C. et al. Mitotic transcription and waves of gene reactivation during mitotic exit. Science 358, 119–122 (2017)) examined gene expression levels at various time points (t = 0, 40, 80, 105, 165, and 300 minutes) following the release from nocodazole-induced mitotic arrest. We analyzed gene expression at t = 105 minutes in comparison to three earlier time points: t = 0, 40, and 80 minutes. Genes were classified as mitosis-specific at t = 0 (early), t = 40 (middle), and t = 80 (late mitosis) if their expression at these time points was at least 1.5 times higher than at t = 105 minutes. For these mitosis-specific genes, we utilized RefSeq gene coordinates (hg19).
