The objective of this study is to elucidate the S-locus architecture of disytly in Mussaenda. Genome assembly and sequencing were conducted on two individuals of Mussaenda lancipetala, while genome resequencing was performed on an additional 59 individuals of M. lancipetala. Furthermore, transcriptome sequencing was carried out on 72 samples of M. lancipetala, alongside 18 samples each of M. multinervis and M. macrophylla.
