Pediococcus acidilactici TY5 is a unique lactic acid bacterium isolated from sour bean curd. It can produce acidic substances and beneficial metabolites, activate the activity of acid protease, and regulate the microecological balance of bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. The genome of TY5 consists of one chromosome and five plasmids, which together shape its unique biological characteristics and metabolic functions.
