Diabetes-Patienten-Verlaufsdokumentation (DPV)

The goal of the DPV initiative is to improve treatment outcomes for people with diabetes in routine therapy through standardized documentation, objective comparison of quality indications, and multicenter therapy research. Currently, more than 400 treatment facilities participate in the initiative, mainly from Germany and Austria, but also from Luxembourg and Switzerland.

The DPV software is a computer-based documentation program for patients with all types of diabetes, both adults and children and adolescents. In the sense of an electronic medical record, diabetes-relevant data is entered only once and is then available for numerous functions: graphic and tabular overview, doctor's letter, treatment plan, diabetes passport, reminder of outstanding examinations (watchdog), certification of centers and DMP documentation. In addition to the DPV initiative, the software is also used as part of the DIVE and SWEET initiatives.
