Gene expression profile of Eggerthella lenta DSM 2243 during growth in defined media EDM1

We grew E. lenta in chemically defined media, added one of multiple potential nutrients, and collected RNA during late exponential phase to determine both the overall profile of highly expressed metabolic enzymes and the gene expression response to nutrient conditions.. Cultures were grown in a base/limited media formulation for 20 hours (early exponential phase), treated with concentrated solutions of either sodium acetate, L-arginine, agmatine sulfate, or vehicle (H2O). Pellets were collected after an additional 18 hours of growth (late exponential).
