The dataset titled “High-Density Plantar Pressure Dataset for Foot Alignment Classification (Rectus and Valgus)” comprises 307 CSV files containing plantar pressure measurements captured using a 32×32 FSR sensor array. Data were collected from 307 participants and categorized based on the alignment of their left and right rearfoot, designated as either rectus or valgus. This classification was determined through the angular estimation of the Tibial-Calcaneal Angle (TCA), obtained via an anthropometric vision system. A comprehensive description of the dataset’s structure is provided below to facilitate its effective utilization and ensure reproducibility. Dataset structure Dataset: “PLANTAR PRESSURE DIST.rar” This compressed file comprises 307 CSV samples, each structured as follows: Cell B1: Contains the identifier MAP__date DD_MM_YYYY__time HH_MM_SS (12-hour format). Cell A2: Contains the Tibial-Calcaneal Angle (TCA) value (in degrees) associated with the left rearfoot. Cell B2: Provides the classification label (Rectus or Valgus) for the left rearfoot. Cell C2: Details the TCA value (in degrees) for the right rearfoot. Cell D2: Presents the classification label (Rectus or Valgus) for the right rearfoot. Cell A3: Indicates “INTERPOLATIONS”, where subsequent rows contain interpolated plantar pressure data. Rows A4 to A131: Contain plantar pressure data generated through sequential bicubic interpolation. Cell A132: Indicates "MEASUREMENTS", where the following rows pertain to raw pressure measurements. Cells A133 to AF164: Contain the original plantar pressure measurements obtained from the 32×32 FSR matrix, corresponding to 1,024 sensor values. These measurements serve as input for training a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) aimed at classifying rearfoot alignment as either rectus or valgus.
