Soil Water at Agricultural Stations in the Former USSR (SWAS-USSR)

This datasets are mainly based on information published during a long period. There are several types of these documents, but the most usual document is 'Agrometeorology Yearbook'. These 'Yearbooks' exist for different regions of ex-USSR republics and contain station soil moisture observations. They may be found in public libraries and archives of regional meteorological canters of Russia and others independent republics of the CIS and also in Central Library of Agriculture Science (Moscow) and in archive of the World Data Centre (Obninsk, Russia).
The observations are taken 3 times per month (8th, 18th, 28th of a month) during warm season. All aspects of operational observations may be found in "Manual of hydro- and meteorological stations and posts" vol.11, 3-d edition, Hydrometeoizdat, Leningrad, 1973.
