Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal community structure along a post-coal mining reclamation chronosequence

In the present study, we investigated the AMF community of a post-coal reclamation chronosequence soils. We tested the hypothesis that the AMF structure in a post-coal reclamation soil chronosequence are differentiated along a temporal gradient of years since reclamation, and differ from those of unmined soils. Furthermore, to obtain an insight into the 'active' AM fungal diversity within reclamation soils, we analysed the roots of the common dominant vegetation species on all reclamation sites.
