资源简介:
The phyllosphere is the above-ground surface of plants which is in contact with the atmosphere. Similar to other plant surfaces, the phyllosphere is occupied by a diverse community of bacteria, fungi and other micro-organisms. Bacteria are the most abundant of these microbes and their cell count ranges between 10^6 to 10^7 cells per square cm of leaf surface. Phyllosphere microorganisms possess a wide range of adaptation and biocontrol factors, which allow them to adapt to the phyllosphere environment and inhibit the growth of microbial pathogens, thus sustaining plant health. Compost teas, the products of fermenting organic material in water, are another source of beneficial microbes to improve plant health. Furthermore, the large surface area and diversity of microbes on the phyllosphere makes this environment interesting for the bioremediation of air pollution. This study aims to gain insights into the taxonomic composition of a healthy phyllosphere microbiome, and of compost teas. Next, the adaptation, biocontrol, and bioremediation factors of potential beneficial bacteria are analysed.
