Retrieval Posteriors for Astrobiology Manuscript "Wavelength Requirements for Life Detection via Reflected Light Spectroscopy of Rocky Exoplanets"

This data set contains simulated retrieval posteriors for the Earth-through-time biosignature and false positive scenarios described in the following manuscript:Krissansen-Totton, J., Ulses, A. G., Frissell, M., Gilbert-Janizek, S., Young, A., Lustig-Yaeger, J., ... & Wogan, N. (2026). Wavelength Requirements for Life Detection via Reflected Light Spectroscopy of Rocky Exoplanets. Astrobiology.Biosignature scenarios include:- Phanerozoic Earth- Proterozoic Earth (high CH4) - a trimmed version is available for easier data processing- Proterozoic Earth (low CH4) - Early Archean (low CH4) - a trimmed version is available for easier data processing- Late Archean (high CH4) - a trimmed version is available for easier data processing- Shortwave cutoff O2/O3 cases (split into three cases, 100% PAL, 1% PAL, 0.1% PAL)False positive scenarios include:- Low non-condensable O2 false positives- Photochemical O2 false positives- Waterworld O2 false positives (only land fraction reported)- Hydrothermal CH4 false positives- Reduced mantle degassing CH4 false positiveRetrieved gas abundances are typically partial pressures except for Archean-analog cases which use mixing ratios.
