This paper presents an analysis of the financial condition of five Polish companies. To determine the financial level and the effectiveness of the entity we have calculated and interpreted: 15 indicators included in the PHI model proposed by John Zietlow, that are divided by the time horizon (general, immediate, short-term, medium-term). Additionally we have calculated the following indices: the risk of liquidation, ROA and ROE profitability, the increase of the company's value and the residual value of EVA.<br>Such detailed analysis of the company is a helpful tool in responding to the environmental relations. This work includes an assessment, interpretation and formulation of the conclusions, which are based on the achieved results.
