Marine sediment metegenome

In this study, sediment samples were collected from the Norwegian coastline to explore the microorganisms in subarctic marine environments. These marine environments along the Norwegian coast are largely undescribed, and little is known about the microbial species inhabiting these subarctic environments. Metagenomic analysis was performed on the environmental DNA (eDNA) extracted from 13 sampling sites using shotgun metagenomic techniques: Illumina 4000 and BGISeq 500. The project's goal is to compare the sequencing results from both methods. Also, to gain valuable insights into the diversity of microbial communities in these unique coastal areas, shedding light on their adaptations to subarctic conditions.
