Bradyrhizobium sp. WCU1 Genome sequencing

This genome originates from a bacterium cultured from lager beer and appears to represent a novel species of Bradyrhizobium. This organism does not contain the genes for nitrogen fixation nor plant nodulation and appears to be free-living. It does contain genes for maltose utilization and survival at low pH, which would be beneficial in a finished beer. It also contains genes for photosynthesis including a gene cluster for light-dependent reactions as well as the complete pathway for the Calvin Cycle and RuBisCO.
