Factor analysis studies of PTSD criteria (1982-2022)

These data were collected in preparation of a literature review manuscript that examined whether or not factor analysis studies contribute meaningful information to the taxonomy criteria of posttraumatic stress disorder. Two hundred sixteen studies were located (published between 1982 and October 2022) that examined the full set of criteria for either DSM-III, IV, or 5 using either exploratory factor analysis or confirmatory factor analysis, excluding dissertations. The primary variables of interest were the number of factors in the best-fitting models, and the items that loaded into each factor.
