Biochemical characteristics of amino acids in the CDR3 regions in HIV-1-infected and control subjects.

CDR3 length and Hydrophobicity Index were calculated as described in the methods. Residue characteristics were calculated with the number of each type of residue divided by the total number of residues in the CDR3 region of each sequence.
