Data on leading Russian universities performance in 2015-2018 (version 2.0)

In comparison with the previous version this dataset contains two sets of data on educational, research, international, financial and economic activities and public recognition for 93 leading Russian universities, grouped into 4 categories, and other Russian universities for the period 2015-2018. The following categories refers to the leading universities: Federal, National Research and Flagship universities, together with universities-participants of the Russian Academic Excellence Project (Project 5-100). In addition to the data collected from materials published in the monitoring of higher education institutions’ effectiveness, held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Web of Science (citation-based research analytics tool InCites) and Scopus (citation-based research analytics tool SciVal) databases, materials from international ranking agencies QS, THE, ARWU, this dataset contains the comparative analysis of universities activities, the results of indicators aggregation for the specified types of activities and the offset, calculated using the Displaced Ideal Method. The data are presented in Excel format. The first Excel sheet contains the data for 93 leading universities. The collected dataset contains 93 records and 174 attributes. The second Excel sheet contains the data for universities categories: FU – Federal Universities, NRU – National Research Universities, FlU – Flagship Universities, Project 5-100 – universities-participants of the Russian Academic Excellence Project, Other - 490 state and municipal organizations of higher education (without Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU). The data are averaged by indicators (median values), except for the positions in rankings, for which the total number of universities included in the respective rankings is indicated. The collected dataset contains 5 records and 118 attributes. Researchers can use this dataset for socio-economic studies in comparative analysis of higher education system development level in different countries.
