Recruitment as a Condition for Value Creation - Impacts of Fisheries Restructuring and Internationalization on Fisheries Employment Networks, 2015

This data is derived from a nationwide questionnaire that was conducted among active fishermen and boat owners in 2015. The survey focuses on attitudes and practices among fishermen and boat owners and is a revised edition of a survey from 2007. The fishermen were asked a series of questions about: 1) background information, 2) recruitment to the profession, 3) questions on how they perceive their profession and how they envision their future, and 4) fisheries policy. In addition, the boat owners answered questions about their vessels, recruitment of crew, profitability and how they envision their future. The project was carried out by the Norwegian College of Fishery Science in collaboration with Ruralis and Sintef Ocean. The data was collected by Norfakta AS.
