This dataset, "Emotional Intelligence and Individual Adaptability: The Moderating Role of Tenure," was collected from university teachers at multiple universities in China between October and December 2025 via the Wenjuanxing online survey platform. Using a convenience sampling approach, a total of 439 valid questionnaires were obtained. The dataset was used to examine the relationships among emotional intelligence, perceived organizational support, career adaptability, and tenure. The dataset includes demographic variables and key psychological factors, including emotional intelligence, perceived organizational support, and career adaptability, with tenure examined as a moderating variable. These data provide insights into the resource-based mechanisms linking emotional intelligence and career adaptability among university teachers, offering clear directions for faculty development initiatives and organizational interventions aimed at enhancing teachers’ adaptive capacity in higher education contexts.
