ASTER Global Digital Elevation Map V2

The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) of Japan and the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) jointly announced the release of the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) Global Digital Elevation Model Version 2 (GDEM V2) on October 17, 2011. ASTER GDEM coverage spans from 83 degrees north latitude to 83 degrees south, encompassing 99 percent of Earth's landmass. The improved GDEM V2 adds 260,000 additional stereo-pairs, improving coverage and reducing the occurrence of artifacts. The refined production algorithm provides improved spatial resolution, increased horizontal and vertical accuracy, and superior water body coverage and detection. The ASTER GDEM V2 maintains the GeoTIFF format and the same gridding and tile structure as V1, with 30-meter postings and 1 x 1 degree tiles.

2011年10月17日，日本经济产业省（Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, METI）与美国国家航空航天局（National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA）联合宣布发布高级星载热发射和反射辐射计（Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer, ASTER）全球数字高程模型第二版（Global Digital Elevation Model Version 2, GDEM V2）。该数据集的覆盖范围为北纬83度至南纬83度，涵盖地球99%的陆地区域。改进后的GDEM V2新增26万对立体像对，提升了覆盖范围并减少了伪影的出现。经优化的生产算法提升了空间分辨率，提高了水平与垂直精度，同时水体覆盖与识别效果更优异。ASTER GDEM V2保留了第一版的GeoTIFF格式、相同的网格化与分块结构，采用30米采样间距，分块尺寸为1×1度。
