资源简介:
“Dining Hall, Bible School.” Interior view of a dining room with small tables able to sit four people. Students occupy some of the tables. The Lovedale Bible School was funded by a donation from Lord Maclay (1857-1951) and opened in 1932 as an inter-denominational school. The building was set away from the main part of Lovedale as the students were older than those attending the institute. The first Head of the school was Rev. Edward William Grant. ❧ The Incehra mission, in the Eastern Cape, was renamed Lovedale ,1826, in memory of Dr John Love (1757-1825) and was later resituated on the Tyumie River in 1837. The mission ministered to the Xhosa speaking people and the mission became famous for its educational endeavours.
