RNA-seq of topical Notoginsenoside R1(NR1) and berberine treatment on diabetic ulcers

Diabetic ulcers bring about higher rates of morbidity and mortality in patients and cause a great economic burden to whole society. Since existing treatments could not fulfil the requirements of patients, thus, there is an urgent need to find effective treatments. In this study, the skin ulcer model was established by full-thickness wounds in type 2 diabetic rats induced by high-fat diet and streptozotocin injection to evaluate the effect of Notoginsenoside R1 and berberine on diabetic wound healing. Furthermore, the possible mechanism of Notoginsenoside R1 and berberine against diabetic ulcers was elucidated by using RNA-Seq technology.
