Two hundred sixty-two patients with ischemic stroke and without a history of pre-stroke depression were included. Blood samples taken at day 3 after stroke were stimulated ex vivo with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). RNA sequencing was used to determine gene expression profile of LPS-induced cytokines and chemokines.
